Drumkeen United 3 v 0 Fintown Harps

Drumkeen kept the pressure on at the top of the table with this important victory against Fintown. Both teams started brightly and both had chances to break the deadlock.

 Drumkeen took the lead on 15 minutes when Aidan Martin broke down a Fintown attack and put a great ball through for Jason McDaid who finished to the corner of the net. Fintown had a good spell after this but the Drumkeen defence held strong with Matthew Price putting in some great tackles. Drumkeen doubled their lead on 23 minutes when great work from Ryan McGee and then Gary McCafferty who played Jason McDaid through who took the ball around the keeper to score.

In the 2nd half Drumkeen had plenty of chances to add to their tally, Conal McDermott hit the bar from a header on 40 minutes. Aidan Martin then had one cleared of the line and the Fintown keeper then denied Jason McDaid on 3 occasions with great saves. Sean Doherty put the game to bed on 50 minutes when he volleyed home from the edge of the box. Great team performance from the boys.
