Mulroy Academy made the long journey south and ran out 2-0 winners over Eany Celtic on Sunday after a hard fought match at Eany Park. After a goalless first half Mulroy took the lead early in the second half through Alan McAteer. This was soon followed by a second from Eoin Carr to give Mulroy a two goal advantage which Eany were unable to claw back. The match was played at a high tempo by both teams but was played fairly at every stage. This was reflected by the fact that there were no bookings at all throughout the match. Both teams at times looked a bit rusty having already finished their divisional league fixtures a few weeks ago and were waiting to get the Champions League group matches under way in order to get game time. Best for Mulroy were Sean Coyle and James Kerr and best for Eany were Peadar Mogan and Stefan Boyle.
