Keadue Rovers beat a fancied Illistrin United 1-0 in a tight match at Central Park on Wednesday evening. Both defences were on top until the last 10 minutes of the game when Keadue won the ball deep in the opposition's half. Daniel Devlin beat his man on the left side of the box after a quick interchange with Ultan Boyle and kept his composure before squaring to the unmarked Ryan Conners who cooly slotted home. Keadue had to withstand a late barrage of attacks from Illistrin but the away side failed to break the home defence in the final stages of the game therefore holding out for a hard fought win.
