Cappry were dealt a major blow to there plans for this game when they found out an hour before kick off that top goal scorer and main attacking threat Sean Mc Bride had been suspended for picking up four bookings since the start of the season. Eany started the game very well and pressed hard for the opening goal but the Cappry defence held firm. In the 16th minute Cappry had a penalty appeal for handball turned down. Eany kept pressing for the goal they needed and as Cappry had almost seen out the first half Peadar Mogan struck in the 37th minute for away team. In the second half Cappry came out looking to get a goal but the Eany defence was well on top. Then in the 50th minute Eany added their second through Conor Maquet following a mix up in the Cappry defence from a long throw in. Then in 64th Peadar Mogan added his second with a fine header from 12 yards to leave the away team going through to the semi finals. Cappry pressed looking for the goals they needed to get back in the game and also a place in the semi finals. They got one in 76th min when a Shaun Rodgers free kick was headed home by Jack Mc Geehan. Cappry pressed for a second but could not find a way through in the last 5 minutes. But much to relief of the Cappry players results elsewhere had meant that both teams had reached the semi finals. Cappry now face Keadue Rovers in the semi finals while Eany play IIlistrin in the other. A good team performance from Eany. Best for Cappry was Shaun Rodgers. Referee: Marty Mc Garrigle.
