Gweedore Celtic 2 Mulroy Academy 2 0000-00-00 00:00:00

In the last match of the group stages with both teams needing a win, one for pride the other for qualification,a draw was the end result.
Mulroy started the better of the teams with a number of set plays causing Gweedore problems at the back. However, Gweedore battled back and played some nice passing football to create a few chances of their own. Nearing half time Mulroy went in front, from a set play, when a powerful header gave the Gweedore keeper no chance.
The start of the second half saw Gweedore play their best football of their Champions league campaign attacking Mulroy without creating any real clear goal chances. Mid way through the second half Mulroy scored a goal against the run of play when again a set play saw them go 2-0 ahead. Credit to Gweedore, who were playing for pride now, continued to play good passing football. Gweedore got their reward with under ten minutes to go when Michael Roarty, on for Dylan O Donnell, scored from inside the box. The momentum clearly with Gweedore now saw them pursue an equaliser. The equaliser deservedly arrived when Kyran Glennon picked up a pass just inside the Mulroy half, held off the defender, drove into the box and slotted past the keeper to make it 2-2 with only two minutes remaining. Gweedore pushed for the winner but time was not on their side. The match fininshed 2-2, a result that got some pride back for Gweedore but unfortunatley for Mulroy ended their Chanpions League campaign this year. The match was refereed impeccably throughout with stoppages and discipline addressed when required.
