Shaun played all his schoolboy football with his local club Bonagee United in the Donegal Schoolboys Letterkenny & District Division and was an ever present in the 1996 League Centre squad from 2009 to 2012. Made his Airtricity League senior debut with Finn Harps at 16 years of age a few week before completing his Leaving Certificate. Played understudy to Ciaran Gallagher for the next 2 seasons and then made the switch to Derry City where he made a number of appearances deputising for Gerard Doherty. Moved to Sligo Rovers for the 2017 season to gain more regular football between the sticks in contention with Michael Schlingerman.
